Sullivan County

There are three things that clearly define Sullivan County to visitors and community members alike: outdoor recreation, the celebration of a diverse population, and its ties to Agriculture.

Seven Missouri Conservation Areas, six lakes, the Thomspon River, and streams gently flowing through the lush native landscape, Sullivan County is ripe with adventure for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts. Visitors can really relax as they hike trails, go birdwatching, or take in the local sights and tastes of the community. Most areas invite primitive camping where backpackers can sleep under the stars and or pitch a tent and enjoy the nights around the campfire. Spend days exploring the thousands of acres of preserved habitats and marshlands home to wildlife and waterfowls. Hunters from all over the nation use north central Missouri for hunting turkey and white tail deer, as the area is home to thousands of acres of public and private hunting grounds.
